En reunión sostenida con el Gerente de Seguridad, Protección y Medioambiente Jason Guillen, nuestra Gerente manifestó la proyección de nuestras actividades para el 2025 y afianzar los lazos entre las dos instituciones.
El puerto supone un significativo paso más de la presencia china en América Latina. Concebido en el marco de la estratégica "Iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta" que lleva años desarrollando para aumentar su presencia e influencia en el mundo, con él China aumenta su capacidad para desembarcar sus mercancías en Sudamérica y embarcar las que importa de esta región, principalmente minerales como litio y cobre y productos agrícolas como la soja.
De acuerdo con las estimaciones del gobierno peruano, su ubicación le permite reducir a 28 los 40 días que en promedio tardan ahora los cargueros que transportan por mar mercancías desde Perú a Asia.
A eso se suma que el gran calado de la bahía de Chancay da al puerto la cabida para acoger los buques más grandes del mundo, capaces de transportar hasta 24.000 TEUs por lo que ofrecerá a las compañías navieras la posibilidad de enviar fletes mayores y a menor costo.
